Athmaja Thottungal is a Consultant and Trust clinical lead for Pain management – Anaesthetics and Pain management, Kent and Canterbury hospital, East Kent University Hospitals NHS trust, and Course Director and Pain lead-London Society of Regional Anaesthesia (LSORA).
Her special Interests are pain management- Ultrasound guided interventions, pelvic pain, shoulder pain, peripheral neuropathies, various types of neuromodulation and pain management programme. She`s also specialises in anaesthesia- Ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia as sole anaesthetic technique or for acute pain management after surgery.
She`s a Fellow and faculty at the World Institute of Pain (WIP), Faculty teaching ultrasound guided interventions and regional anaesthesia blocks for anesthesia and chronic pain management nationally and internationally. Dr Thottungal is a Fellow and faculty of the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain medicine- EDPM examination faculty and a Honorary Senior lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University.
Dr Thottungal is author of several chapters for for interventional pain management books and anaesthetists e-learning platforms.
